A Big Fat FLOP!

I didn't post yesterday because I did a deja-vu from the day before.  My poor sick hubby requested I make the Immune Power Fruit again, and this time I made enough for the whole family.  This is truly a FAVORITE. So refreshing and GOOD!

Tonight, however, I am reminding myself of what this 30 days is all about.  Its permission and encouragement to try different things...lots of different things to find out whether we like them or not.  Permission to step way outside of my comfort zone and try things with a good attitude.  Like beet juice, for example.  I had never even purchased beets before, and now I know that I really do like them! I have learned that they have a strong, intense flavor and to be careful how much I add to a juice, but definitely something I will buy again.

So, with that in mind, I will share tonight's Big Fat Flop.  I am still sick, Markus is still sick. So I was reading in the book that you can add raw onions and garlic to a juice to act as an immune booster.  I tweaked a recipe to the ingredients that I had in the fridge, and came up with a juice that included:

Handful of Spinach
Lemon
Handful Parsley
Baby Cucumber
4 Celery Stalks
2 Garlic Cloves
1/4 Red Onion
1 small Beet
6 Carrots
Served over Ice.

The flavor was delicious...sweet and tangy.  But after I swallowed, my throat started to burn. And my eyes started to water.  And my ears turned bright red.  And my stomach got very upset with me.  I will spare the rest of the details.

So, big lesson learned.....some people might like onions and garlic in there juice, but I can't stomach it.  =( I hated throwing it all away, but I didn't even want to look at it again.

Oh well, lesson learned.  I will try something else new tomorrow!
